Ellingwood along with Little Bear and Blanca ring in the Lake Como drainage in the Sangre de Cristo mountains.  The standard descent is via the south face.  Colin Murphy descended a new route called the southwest couloir in 2009 as well.  We are aware of no other viable snowboard/ski descents on this peak.

5/16/2009-Colin Murphy descends the narrow Southwest Couloir on Ellingwood point.  This is the earliest recorded descent we have of this steep, technical line.  Some believe that due to the obscureness/technical difficulty of this line that this was the first descent of this couloir.

5/17/2009-Erik Kling and Tom Courtright descend the South face.

4/25/2010-Brennan Metzler, Brittany Walker(skier), and Tom Runcie(skier) climb Ellingwood's southeast ridge and descend the south face.  Check out Brennan Metzler's trip report at http://www.14ers.com/php14ers/tripreport.php?trip=7850&parmpeak=Ellingwood+Point&cpgm=tripmain&ski=Only  .
